Chief Minister Omar Abdullah promised to look into all cases of killings of youth in Jammu and Kashmir after the all-party meet convened by the state government, to discuss the law and order situation in the state, ended in Srinagar. Omar also appealed to people to maintain peace and said hopefully, the discussion will lead to concrete steps on the ground.
Besides the ruling National Conference (NC) and the Congress, the meeting is also attended by the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and the Democratic National Party.
Former chief minister Farooq Abdullah will also be present at the crucial meeting.
Apart from the PDP, the Panthers Party will also not be attending the meet.
Omar Abdullah called the all-party meeting to discuss the volatile situation in the valley where the army was called in to stage marches in curfew-bound towns to restore law and order following violent protests over civilian killings.
